Privacy policy

Last updated 7 November 2026 · Applies to My Money for Android (Google Play) and iPhone (App Store)

In short: your financial records never leave your phone. There is no account, no server and no bank connection, and we never see your data.

The only exception is the free Android version, which shows one advert provided by Google. Google may collect some device information to show it, and you are asked for consent first in the UK and EEA.

Who we are

My Money is made by ionutcm, an independent developer in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, email contact@ionutcm.com.

Information stored on your phone

Everything you enter is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage:

WhatWhere it is kept
Jobs, shifts, pay rates, pay periods, holidaysOn your phone only
Payments, recurring payments, wallet transactionsOn your phone only
Settings, theme, currencyOn your phone only
App lock settings (your PIN is never stored, only a scrambled check value)In your phone's secure storage (iPhone Keychain or Android Keystore), never included in backups
Whether you own My Money ProOn your phone, as confirmed by Google Play or the App Store

We do not collect, receive, sell or share any of it. My Money does not use analytics and does not ask for location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.

Backups

When you save a backup, the app creates a file and you choose where it goes (for example your phone, Google Drive or iCloud Drive). That file is under your control and is covered by the policy of wherever you store it. We never receive it.

Advertising (Android, free version only)

The free Android version shows one banner advert on the Overview screen, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure adverts, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, information about how you interact with the advert, your approximate location from your IP address, and diagnostic information. Google uses this for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. See how Google uses information from apps.

  • In the UK and EEA, you are asked for consent before any advert is requested. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
  • Your financial records are never sent to the ad network.
  • My Money Pro removes all adverts, and then no advert is ever requested.

The iPhone app contains no advertising or analytics software and does not track you.

Purchases

My Money Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone. Google or Apple handle the payment and your payment details, and we do not receive them. Google or Apple may give us basic order details (such as order number, date, country and amount), which we use only for accounting and refunds.

App lock and biometrics

The optional app lock uses a 4- or 6-digit PIN and, if you turn it on, your phone's own fingerprint, face or Face ID / Touch ID system. Your PIN itself is never stored: only a scrambled check value (which cannot be turned back into your PIN) and the lock settings are kept, in your phone's secure storage (the iPhone Keychain, or storage protected by the Android Keystore). They never leave your phone and are never included in backups. Your biometric data stays in your phone's secure hardware. My Money only receives a yes or no answer and never sees the biometric data.

Keeping information safe

Because we run no servers for My Money, there is no copy of your records on our side to lose or to be breached. Anyone who can unlock your phone and open the app could see your records, so we recommend keeping your phone locked and turning on the app lock.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. Uninstalling My Money, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes all of it. Backup files you saved are not deleted automatically; delete them yourself if you no longer need them.

If you email us

If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We delete the conversation when it is no longer needed, and at the latest after 2 years.

Children

My Money is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data, and to object to its use. As we hold no data about you from the app, these requests usually concern Google's advertising (see above) or an email you sent us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
